Welcome to the Reading Room

Christian Science

The purpose of the Reading Room is to support and encourage individual spiritual growth. There are many resources to study, buy or borrow.

 

 

 

The Reading Room Bookstore has a variety of books, magazines, CD’s and tapes related to the study of the Bible and Christian Science. There are items for adults and children in many languages.

 

 

 

 

 

The resources for sale are also available for review in the Study Room and many items may also be borrowed for “at home” study. Children are welcome to come in and read quietly.

 

 

 

 

In the study room, an area is provided for Bible research and has a variety of Bible translations, commentaries and dictionaries.

 

 

Another study area has copies of the various writings by Mary Baker Eddy, including her ground-breaking Bible commentary, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, which has a spiritual perspective that explains “the healing and educational system known as Christian Science,”

 

 

 

A third study area has research materials in Spanish for the convenience of the Spanish speaker.

 

 

There are bookcases filled with bound volumes of Christian Science Journals and Christian Science Sentinels, dating from the early days of the church. Current and past copies of the Christian Science Monitor, an international daily newspaper, are available.

 

 

 

A computer and other audio/visual aids are also available. The computer has Internet access to The Christian Science Monitor and Spirituality.com, as well as other Church websites. You may also find concordances to Mary Baker Eddy’s writings, and the articles contained in the Bound Volumes. 

 

A choice of seating arrangements can be found to make your reading comfortable and enjoyable.
